Patch Notes Document (Reddit Thread)

GENERAL CHANGES

  • Added an option to hide game passwords in automap options.
  • Shared Stash:
    • Enabled shared stash in single player.
      • Note: this and the materials tab are not compatible with Plugy. If you still want to use Plugy you can run the game with the -plugy command line argument which will disable these features.
    • Added personal and shared gold functionality.
    • Updated the personal stash gold cap to 5 million.
    • Updated the player gold cap to 5 million (This is not based on level and is 5 million cap at all levels).
    • Updated the shared gold stash cap to 10 million.
    • Added hover descriptions to stash tabs.
    • Added stash tab hotkeys.
  • Added a Materials Stash Tab:
    • Materials deposited into your stash with Shift + Right Click will automatically be deposited to this tab regardless of what page you are on.
    • The tab allows rejuvenation potions to be stacked within it.
      • Note:
        • Shift + Right Click will prioritize filling your belt.
        • Shift + Ctrl + Right Click will fill your cube with rejuvenation potions.
    • The keybinds are as follows:
      • Right click to withdraw a stack of 1 to your inventory.
      • Left click to withdraw a stack of 1 to your mouse.
      • Ctrl + (Left / Right Click) to withdraw a stack of 5 to your (mouse / inventory).
      • Shift + (Left / Right Click) to withdraw a stack of 50 to your (mouse / inventory).
      • Ctrl + Shift + Right Click to Deposit a stack of 50 to your cube.
      • Ctrl + Shift + Left click to Deposit a single item to your cube.
        • Rejuvenation Potions are capped to +20.
      • The Materials Tab can be opened via mouse wheel, through the new Materials Tab Stash button, or with the keybind button (default X but configurable in options).

  • Added a new rare material drop the Demonic Cube:
    • Can be cubed with a set or unique to reroll the stats.
    • Maintains the sockets of a unique/set item as well as what was socketed within them.
    • Can be used on any item of unique/set rarity.
    • Cannot be used on a corrupted or mirrored item.
    • Drops off any monster in Hell or off Tier 1 and Tier 2 Lucion.
  • Added WASD Support.
    • Note: The WASD binds can be changed in the configuration menu
  • Added Controller Support:
    • The default controller configurations use "Twin Stick Shooter" style controls, using the left stick for movement and the right stick to aim.
    • The further you push the right stick the further the ability will be cast away from the player.
    • Directly supports PS4/PS5 and Xbox controllers.
    • Steam Deck™ supported with proper install (instructions will be posted).
    • Bluetooth PS5 controllers not supported.
    • Unsupported controllers can be used through Steam Input.
    • Seamless mouse and keyboard to controller transitioning on input, simply press a button and go then click or move your mouse to revert back!
    • Sensitivity and Aim Assist options available.
    • Quickcast can be enabled for a more "traditional" style of controls where the player presses a bind and it is immediately fired forward from the player instead of requiring aiming with the second joystick.
  • Added a setting to make allies abilities and summons appear translucent.
  • Added a new "Controls" menu that contains WASD and Controller settings.
  • Added an option in the settings menu to show life and mana values above the globes.
  • Lucion will be enabled in single player and non ladder.
  • Added a new single player settings menu with the following settings:
    • A /Players slider that will save between games & game launches.
    • An option to Regenerate Levels (Levels will be reset with new layouts on save and exit).
  • Changed worldstone shard text color from purple to red to properly match the corrupted tag.
  • Duriel now has his quest completion flag triggered from being killed instead of talking to Tyrael.
  • Shapeshift forms are now kept on act transition.
  • Depositing, withdrawing, and dropping gold will now always put the maximum gold amount in by default (i.e. no more typing).
  • You can now withdraw the max amount of gold.
    • Previously you had to withdraw an exact amount that was less than your gold cap, otherwise it would withdraw nothing.
  • Fortified kills now count as 2 kills in your .kills stats.
  • Monster Decrepify slow reduced from -50% to -30%.
  • Oblivion Knights:
    • Now have a chance to cast curses instead of always casting a curse on an uncursed player.
    • Now cast Lower Resist (-25% all resistances) instead of Life Tap.
  • Added help text to the bottom of item tooltips, this will display available hotkeys.
    • Note: This can be disabled in the PD2 General Options menu.
  • Added new hover text for attributes:
    • Displays hotkeys to assign attributes when you have available points.
    • Displays base attributes values and bonuses from items on hover.
  • Added new chat command: .accountstats This will work the same as .allstats but will be account-wide (still split by hardcore/softcore, ladder/non-ladder).
  • Act 4 Mercenary (Light):
    • Damage reduced.
    • Sanctuary aura max level increased from 21 to 30.
  • Act 4 Mercenary (Dark):
    • Damage reduced.
    • Bone Armor base level increased and max base level (reached at mercenary level 90) increased from 21 to 32.
    • Amplify Damage base level increased and max base level (reached at mercenary level 90) increased from 21 to 32.
  • Act 3 Mercenary (Lightning):
    • Holy Shock level increased at mid game and max base level (reached at mercenary level 95) increased from 20 to 25.
  • Act 3 Mercenary (Cold):
    • Prayer level increased at mid game and max base level (reached at mercenary level 98) increased from 18 to 25.
  • Act 3 Mercenary (Fire):
    • Cleansing level increased at mid game and max base level (reached at mercenary level 98) increased from 18 to 30.
  • Act 1 Mercenary (Cold):

TRADE WEBSITE

New "block user" feature:

  • You now have the ability to block other users to prevent them from messaging you and creating offers on your trades. You can block them in the "gear" menu on a chat you have with that user and also as an additional option on their offer on your trade. Once you've blocked them their names will be displayed in red when you view their trades to indicate that, while there's nothing that is stopping you from trading with them, communication will be hard since they won't be able to message you on the site. Users that you have blocked will show up in your settings page, and you can unblock users there if you wish.

Currency display:

  • With the awesome introduction of the currency/materials portion of the stash you can view this information on the site in your character and account pages. Currently you are unable to list items directly from this display like you can with your normal stash pages, but you could pull out a stack of the item into your normal stash and list it at that point.

New free-form profile info:

  • In your settings you can write profile info (markdown supported) for anything you want: personal rune price list, builds you're looking to gear up, etc.

Public stash pages:

  • In your settings you can mark certain stash pages as public, so that anyone can view them through the armory. Couples of notes with this: because of the way D2 was originally written we can't show this info on the character view screen, only the armory page. Also note that, if you have multiple game accounts linked to your site account, this setting will affect all of those game accounts.

Responsive listing layout:

  • Just added some responsive styles to take advantage of wider screens, moving the user info/actions to the right of the item info for wide views.

Timezone and contact preference settings:

  • You can set these in your settings and they will show up on your listing on the wider view only (the narrow view is too cluttered already, hence the move to the responsive version). Note here that daylight savings time is annoying so you may see things off by an hour, but it at least gives you an indication of whether the person not responding to you is most likely sleeping.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed games perming instantly instead of perming after 2 minutes.
  • Fixed a crash caused by hovering a skill while namelocking a player.
  • Fixed several bosses not properly spawning minions.
  • Fixed the kill counter and home feature resetting for some players.
  • Fixed the Gheed map event and the Fallen Gardens sometimes granting a rare item instead of a unique item.
  • Fixed shapeshift forms sometimes double casting in town.
  • Fixed an issue with allocated loot which would prematurely deallocate the item before you were able to pick it up.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause wolves to not vanish when equipping Denmother from the ground.
  • Fixed quick cast not reverting back to normal attacks.
  • Fixed getting stuck with channeling spells while using quick cast.
  • Fixed several dungeon monsters not having the prime evil tag.
  • Fixed boss dungeon loot tables that were incorrectly dropping tier 3 map boss drop tables.
  • Fixed the cow level being area level 82 instead of 81.
  • Fixed the Plains of Torment dungeon boss gate not opening.
  • Fixed some cases where the act 1 mercenary attack breakpoints would display incorrectly.
  • Fixed act 5 Concentrate mercenary showing Whirlwind breakpoints.

LOOT FILTER

  • Added STAT and MULTI to the add condition (thanks exiledagain).
  • Added the ability to add loot filter notification sounds (thanks imtheantinoob):
    • All of the sounds in sounds.txt will be available (with the exception of looping sounds).
    • The keyword to use these is %SOUNDID-##% where ## is the sound index from sounds.txt.
    • There's also an option in the Loot Filter settings menu to disable these sounds.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the %ALVL% keyword to show the incorrect alvl (thanks kanzeon).

PVP

  • Added a second readable PvP tome within PvP arenas that further explains stat limits within the PvP arenas.
  • Added the ability to see dueling players health bars while in spectate mode within PvP arenas.
  • PvP modifiers changed for balance, read the PvP tome to see modifiers.

MAPS

  • Angelic Orb:
    • Recipe changed from magic map + perfect skull + any rune to magic map + any perfect gem + any rune.
    • Gold cost increased by 25%.
  • Arcane Orb:
    • Can now be cubed with a magic map to reroll it.
  • Zhar's Sanctum:
    • Minibosses now have a 50% chance to drop skillers.
    • Slightly reduced the damage of Zhar's Armageddon skill.
    • Slightly reduced the damage of the cantor's Blizzard.
  • Outer Void:
    • Added a new unique map the Outer Void (item code: T55) — tileset made by Aerlynn and layout by Borq.
    • This map has three random map bosses each of which will drop a pinnacle boss material at random (any of the three materials from diablo clone, lucion or rathma).
  • Imperial Palace:
    • Added a new unique map Imperial Palace (item code: T54) — made by Alma.
      • Note: The mini boss in this map will always drop a Larzuk's Puzzlepiece and the boss will always drop a Larzuk's Puzzlebox.
  • Halls of Torture:
    • Added a new tier 1 map Halls of Torture (item code: T17) — made by Gimli.
      • Note: Last season we began to do what we deemed the "New Map Rotation" what this means is that when a map is first added into the pool it will have no immunities for the first season it is added in order to allow everyone to experience it.
      • This means Demon Road and Skovos Stronghold will be given immunities and cycled into the immunity pool while the new map will have none.
  • Ruined Cistern:
    • Ruined Cistern boss now deals ~35% less damage with its poison spear.
    • No longer has fire immunes.
    • Now has lightning immunes.
  • Magic maps now always roll with 2 affixes:
    • Added magic only map affixes.
      • Note: Magic maps can now roll with up to 4 affixes in benefits (e.g. equal density, magic find, rarity, etc modifiers equal to 4 affixes).
      • Magic maps can now roll up to 3 affixes in difficulty (E.g. +% monster damage, +% monster health, etc equal to 3 affixes).

Random Magic Map Examples:

  • +% Monster health prefix and suffixes reduced from +5-15% (t1) / +15-25% (t2) / +25-35% (t3) to +5-10% (t1) / +10-15% (t2) / +15-20% (t3).
  • +% Monster health and life steal prefix and suffixes reduced from +10-15% / +15-20% / +20-25% to +4-8% / 8-12% / 12-16%.
  • Map contains vampire lords mod will no longer cold immune.
  • Disabled +1 area level prefix.
    • Note: Can still be found via corruption mods.
  • Map modifier "Map contains Shrieking Terrors" changed to "Map contains Minions of Destruction".
  • Tier 1 map affixes can no longer spawn on tier 3 maps.
  • Corrupting a map now has a 1% chance to turn it into a unique map.
  • Monsters have +% deadly strike map corruption values reduced from 5-10% (T1) / 10-15% (T2) / 15-20% (T3) to 4-8% (T1) / 8-12% (T2) / 12-16% (T3).
  • Monsters have cannot be frozen and +% maximum health map corruption values reduced from 5-15% (T1) / 15-25% (T2) / 25-35% (T3) to 10-15% (T1) / 15-20% (T2) / 20-25% (T3).
  • Monsters in maps that previously cast blood mana when your mana was higher than your health will now cast lower resist (-25% resist).
  • Blood mana curse duration reduced from 33 seconds to 12.
  • Dungeons:
    • Putrid Defilers in dungeons now deal 30% less damage with their poison bone spears.
    • Putrid Defilers poison bone spear range has been greatly reduced.

MAP EVENTS

Horazon

  • Now properly has a golden name

Treasure Fallen

  • Now always drop infused orbs instead of regular map orbs
  • Now drops zakarum and horadrim orbs more often than arcane orbs, angelic orbs and orbs of destruction
  • Now have a higher chance to drop perfect gems instead of flawless
  • Can now drop any rune up to Zod

UBERS

  • Disabled Uber materials from dropping in normal and nightmare
  • Hellfire Ashes name text color changed from white to crafting orange
  • Prime Evil Soul droprate from diablo increased from 1 in 37 to 1 in 21
  • Prime Evil Soul droprate from baal increased from 1 in 22 to 1 in 13

Diablo Clone

  • Magic resist reduced from 30% to 20%
  • Now has the in game name “Diablo Clone”
  • Will attempt to teleport to the center of the arena if blocked before nova phase (This should prevent novas from becoming misaligned)

Rathma and Mendeln

  • Magic resist reduced from 35% to 25%
  • Fixed phase 1 Mendeln having half the intended lightning resist
  • Conjured soul magic resist reduced from 50% to 40%
  • Mendeln phase 1 towers are no longer targetable

Uber Tristram

  • Pandemonium Talisman recipe no longer requires a key
  • Boss names now contain “Uber”
  • Uber tristram now requires 1 of each organ to make the Pandemonium Talisman (lilith says hi)

Lucion

  • Added lucion tier 0 (changes in difficulty per tier will come with this change)
  • Desecration chances changed from 50% (tier 1), 60% (tier 2) to 50% (tier 0), 55% (tier 1), 60% (tier 2)
  • Added “demonic cube” as rare drop from lucion (tier 1 and tier 2 at 1/75 and 1/50 drop rates)
  • Golden chests in the temple of the triune now drop +1 additional item per tier of difficulty
  • Fixed a bug that caused lucions phases to happen slower in higher tiers

SKILLS

Amazon

Jab

  • Attack animation speed increased by ~15%

Penetrate

  • -2% to enemy target defense per base level removed
  • Added -1% to enemy physical resistance per 2 base levels

Exploding Arrow

  • Level 8-16 scaling increased from 8-9 to 9-10
  • Level 16-22 scaling increased from 14-15 to 17-18
  • Level 22-28 scaling increased from 23-24 to 27-28
  • Level 28+ scaling increased from 35-36 to 37-38
  • Projectile hitbox size increased from 1 to 3
  • Reduced visual density of explosions

Freezing Arrow

  • Projectile hitbox size increased from 1 to 2

Lightning Bolt

  • Projectile hitbox size increased from 2 to 3
  • Synergies increased from 14% to 15%

Plague Javelin

  • Projectile hitbox size increased from 2 to 3

Pierce

  • Base pierce chance reduced from 30% to 20%
  • Level 1-8 +% pierce per level reduced from 3% to 2%

Magic Arrow

  • Projectile hitbox size increased from 1 to 2

Strafe

  • Fixed strafe incorrectly dealing 75% weapon damage instead of 100%

Multiple Shot

  • Enhanced damage per level reduced from +10% to +5%

Dodge

  • Tooltip now includes the 0.16 second cooldown between successful dodges

Evade

  • Tooltip now includes the 0.16 second cooldown between successful dodges

Charged Strike

  • Bolts now always pierce
  • Note: It still shotguns
  • Bolts velocity increased from 12 to 24

Assassin

Fists of Fire

  • Third stage meteor explosion radius increased by 75%
  • Fixed fists of fire third stage meteor's physical damage using phoenix strike instead of dragon flight as a synergy

Blades of Ice

  • Synergies increased from 12% to 15%
  • Second Stage
  • Area of effect widened and range increased
  • Knockback chance reduced from 30% to 20%

Weapon Block

  • Tooltip now includes the 0.16 second cooldown between successful parrys

Cloak of Shadows

  • Added a cooldown to match its uptime
  • Note: This was done to make it more clear that you cannot cast cloak of shadows while another instance of cloak of shadows is still active

Fire Blast

  • +1 additional bomb per 4 base levels increased to +1 additional bomb per 3 base levels
  • Missile velocity increased from 12 to 16

Wake of Fire

  • Mana cost per level increase reduced from .25 to .125

Wake of Inferno

  • Mana cost per level increase reduced from .25 to .125

Charged Bolt Sentry

  • Mana cost per level increase reduced from .25 to .125
  • Projectiles will now always pierce
  • Charged bolt sentry range reduced from 98 to 32
  • Charged bolt sentry max velocity increased from 12 to 45
  • Charged bolt sentry now gains 2 velocity per level

Lightning Sentry

Chain Lightning Sentry

Cobra Strike

Mind Blast

Shadow Warrior

  • Now displays quantity
  • AI rewritten and improved to use abilities more often instead of using normal attack
  • Now snapshots the players skill synergies on summon instead of requiring the shadow to cast them in order to gain the benefits of the synergies (This behavior now matches the current behavior of shadow masters)
  • Now benefits from claw block
  • No longer has 50% innate block chance

Shadow Master

  • Now displays quantity
  • No longer has 50% innate block chance
  • Note: Shadow masters already previously benefited from claw block

Blade Sentinel

  • Synergies increased from 12% to 15%
  • Level 16-22 flat damage scaling reduced from 4-4 to 3-3
  • Level 22-28 flat damage scaling reduced from 6-6 to 4-4
  • Level 28+ flat damage scaling reduced from 8-8 to 5-5
  • Now shows % weapon damage in the tooltip instead of a fraction

Death Sentry

  • No longer has a limit to the amount of shots fired

Blade Fury

  • Synergies increased from 10% to 15%
  • Now deals full weapon damage instead of ½
  • Now shows % weapon damage in the tooltip instead of a fraction
  • Now leeches at 75% efficiency
  • Reworked so that it's shattered sub missiles will now also bounce off walls and split into more sub missiles, each time a missile splits the range of the new missiles is reduced
  • Reworked so that it's bounced missiles will now take the players missile angle into consideration allowing for better aiming
  • Reworked to now have a 50% chance for the missiles to split when hitting an enemy
  • Reworked split missiles to now have an 80% reduced chance to proc effects
  • Ranged reduced from 40 to 28
  • Shadows can now cast blade fury (they cannot channel and will use single instances of the skill)

Blade Shield

  • Now shows % weapon damage in the tooltip instead of a fraction

Barbarian

Grim Ward

  • Base enhanced damage increased from +40% to +50%
  • Enhanced damage per level bonus increased from +8% to +15%

Frenzy

  • Duration increased from 1 second per 2 base points to 1 per base point
  • Base enhanced damage bonus increased from +20% to +25%

Double Swing

  • Base enhanced damage bonus increased from +25% to +30%
  • +25% enhanced damage per level increased to +30%

Throw Mastery

  • Enhanced damage per level bonus increased from 4% to 5%

Druid

Solar Creeper

  • No longer displays quantity as you could not have more than one
  • Now displays the health bar

Carrion Vine

  • No longer displays quantity as you could not have more than one
  • Now displays the health bar

Poison Creeper

  • Now displays the health bar
  • Level 1-8 damage scaling reduced from 3-3 to 2-2
  • Level 8-16 damage scaling reduced from 5-5 to 4-4

Raven

  • Synergies reduced from 12% to 10%

Summon Spirit Wolf

  • Maximum spirit wolves increased from 5 to 6
  • Hitpoints % per level increased from +30% to +35%
  • Synergies increased from 6% to 8%
  • Fixed tooltip being incorrect (this will visually appear to be a large nerf but the previous tooltip was completely incorrect and the ability is actually buffed)

Summon Dire Wolf

  • Melee splash radius increased by 40%
  • Hitpoints % per level increased from +40% to +50%
  • Synergies increased from 6% to 7%
  • Fixed tooltip being incorrect (this will visually appear to be a large nerf but the previous tooltip was completely incorrect and the ability is actually buffed)

Summon Grizzly

  • Health per level scaling reduced by 50%
  • Maximum resistance reduced from 85 to 80
  • Synergies reduced from 6% to 4%
  • Cooldown increased from 1 second to 2

Arctic Blast

  • Base range increased by 20% (same range cap)

Shock Wave

  • Level 1-8 damage scaling increased from 3-4 to 3-5
  • Level 8-16 damage scaling increased from 6-8 to 6-10
  • Level 16-22 damage scaling increased from 18-20 to 18-25
  • Level 22-28 damage scaling increased from 32-34 to 32-42
  • Level 28+ damage scaling increased from 48-50 to 48-63
  • Now caps at 8 shockwaves
  • Shockwave missile size increased from 1 to 3

Tornado

  • Level 16-22 damage scaling increased from 20-22 to 22-24
  • Level 22-28 damage scaling increased from 26-28 to 28-30
  • Level 28+ damage scaling increased from 30-32 to 34-36

Hurricane

  • Chill duration increased from 2 seconds to 8

Necromancer

Bone Prison

  • Added attackers takes damage per level
  • Synergies reduced from 8% to 5%
  • Synergies now also apply to the attacker takes damage stat on bone wall

Bone Wall

  • Added attackers takes damage per level
  • Improved the description tooltip to explain that monsters are attracted to bone walls
  • Synergies reduced from 10% to 5%
  • Synergies now also apply to the attacker takes damage stat on bone wall

Bone Spirit

  • Synergies increased from 14% to 15%

Dark Pact

  • Curse Mastery synergy increased from +15% to +16%
  • Iron Maiden synergy increased from +15% to +16%
  • All curses synergy increased from +10% to +12%
  • Dark pact base mana cost reduced from 6 to 1
  • Dark pact mana cost per level scaling increased from .125 to .25

Desecrate

  • Now requires line of sight to cast

Corpse Explosion

  • Now requires line of sight to cast

Decrepify

  • Now gains an additional -1% to enemy physical resist every 3 levels

Teeth

  • Base mana cost reduced from 3 to 2
  • Base missile count increased from 2 to 3
  • Base damage increased from 1.5-3 to 3-5
  • Level 1-8 scaling increased from 0.5-1 per level to 1-2 to per level
  • Level 8-16 scaling increased from 1-1.5 to 2-3

Bone Spear

  • Synergies increased from 14% to 15%

Paladin

Sacrifice

  • Has been moved from a level 1 skill to a level 6 skill
  • Base radius reduced to 4
  • Now gains +1 radius every 5 soft points
  • Maximum radius now caps at 10

Fist of the Heavens

  • level 28+ lightning damage scaling increased from 14-29 to 15-30
  • 28+ holy bolt damage scaling increased from 19-20 to 20-21

Zeal

  • Has been moved from a level 6 skill to a level 1 skill

Smite

  • Updated the tooltip to explain that the crushing blow bonus scales with base points

Holy Shield

  • Has been moved from a level 24 skill to a level 18 skill
  • Level 28+ damage scaling reduced from 5-5 to 4-4

Holy Sword

  • Tooltip now includes the 0.16 second cooldown between successful parrys

Holy Freeze

  • Synergies reduced from 12% to 11%

Holy Fire

  • Synergies increased from 15% to 16%

Sanctuary

  • Synergies increased from 9% to 10%

Holy Sword

  • Has been moved from a level 18 skill to a level 24 skill

Vigor

  • +1% faster run walk passive bonus per 2 base points increased to +1% per base point

Holy Bolt

  • Synergies increased from 10% to 11%

Holy Light

  • Base mana cost reduced from 10 to 5
  • Mana cost per level reduced from .5 to .25
  • Synergies increased from 6% to 10%
  • Updated the tooltip to better explain how the aoe mechanic functions with casting on an ally compared to casting on an enemy

Charge

  • Enhanced damage bonus per level reduced from 25% to 20%
  • Synergies reduced from 20% to 15%

Joust

  • Level 1 enhanced damage bonus increased from +8% to +40%

Vengeance

  • Base chain chance reduced from 25% to 16%
  • Max chain distance reduced from 30 to 24
  • Level 1-8 damage flat damage scaling reduced from 4-6 to 1-2
