Starter Poison Strike Necromancer

Viability / Purpose of the Build

A very good build to finish the campaign with, from normal to hell without using a respec, and farm the usual spots like Pits, Chaos and Baal.
It can do T1 maps with reasonable gear, for Uber Trist and DClone I would suggest to farm the full Trang-Oul set, with the usually required gear for these runs like max resist and PDR.

Watch Ubers and DClone video here - S12 T0 DClone is harder and requires a bit more gear, still possible though. The basics are the still the same.

Skills

Max Poison Strike, Bone Armor and Desecrate. Put the rest in Blood Golems and Blood Warp.
Get at least 15 points into Golem Mastery for 4 golems. You can try out more or less points into Blood Golem for more points into Blood Warp, or the other way round. Thats up to your own preference.

Attributes

Get as much str/dex as you need for gear, the rest into vitality. You can prepare the stats for Blackbogs dagger, which needs 88 dexterity and full Trang-Oul for which you need 106 strength.

Gear

As you somewhat of a melee build, you will need the usual breakpoints like increased attack speed(get at least 35 but 58 is prefered), faster hit recovery(get at least 56) and physical damage reduction(20+ but the higher the better).
Season 12 added IAS and FCR on Large Charms, use these to get the needed IAS/FCR breakpoints early.

Early Game Gear

For normal you basically just need a dagger/kris and necromancer offhand/shield with +3 Poison Strike. For Nightmare you want to start adding the IAS and FHR breakpoints, get them anyway you can by using whatever gear you can find with these stats on them.
Shouldn't be too hard to get your hands on Sigons gloves and boots for the IAS, a Jade Tan Do (or Blackbogs) socketed with at least one Shael for 20 IAS.
Since you are melee, you can't go wrong with Angelics amulet/ring, 95 life and a ton of attack rating. Finishing off with a Wormskull helm with a Shael for 20 FHR.

Mid Game Gear

Midgame gear basically consists of Full Trang-Oul, Blackbogs dagger and Silkweaves for mana after each kill. I would also socket some life after kill jewels in the weapon. Make sure you get at least 56 FHR and 58 IAS with runes, jewels or charms.
With this gear you can also easily do Uber Tristram for your own Torch. Swap out the boots for Waterwalks and the amulet for a Nokozan, or if possible socket 1 or 2 vexes in your helmet.

Check out THIS LINK for the mid game skills and gear. Slams you want for this gear are Increased Attack Speed, Life After Each Kill, Sockets and +1 all skills. Socket poison facets where possible, since its midgear I suggest 4/4s and not 5/5s as shown in the gear.

End Game Gear

I will leave the late game gear out of this guide, there are other guides who focus on this sort of gear and since I haven't actually played it with endgame gear I cannot really advise on this.

Mercenary

For campaign and early farming, nothing can beat the A1 Fire mercenary with Vigor. Zooming and Bloodwarping around to finish the campaign quickly and do quick farm runs.
Midgame, I would still go for A1 Fire mercenary, give her a Pus Spitter to enhance your damage even more. Mostly useful versus bosses or high poison resist monsters.

IMPORTANT: Lower Resist has to be applied to a monster BEFORE the poison damage is applied, if not the Lower Resist does not apply.

Leveling

Max Poison Strike first, then you will want to get at least 2 Blood Golems before putting the rest of your points into the Poison Strike synergies.
The Blood Golems will keep the monsters busy while you dart in and out stabbing them and spreading the poison cloud.

Farming

As shown in the video, you can farm Pits, Arcane, Chaos Sanctuary and Baal very easily with the gear you found or traded for with a few Worldstone Shards.
With midgame gear you can also easily do Uber Tristram for your own Torch.
You CAN kill Diablo Clone with it to get your own Annihilus, but it requires some practice. Uber Ancients is also a good spot, just keep resummoning your Blood Golems, hit them with Poison Strike and keep your mercenary alive.
